McLarens names Alistair Jacob Head of London International

McLarens, a claims services provider, has appointed Alistair Jacob to the newly established position of Head of London International.

Based in the Lime Street office in the City of London, Jacob will report to Steven Wallace, Managing Director for EMEA, and will focus on enhancing McLarens’ presence in the Lloyd’s and London markets.

He will lead a specialised team handling major and complex losses while overseeing assignments processed through the London International hub.

With a career spanning four decades, Jacob brings vast experience in managing intricate commercial and specialty insurance and reinsurance claims across diverse sectors.

He has been involved with Lloyd’s claims since 1992 and has deep expertise in claims management across multiple regions and products, including catastrophe events, commercial property, political violence, onshore power (fossil and renewables), construction, and marine (ports and terminals).

Jacobs joins McLarens from Dekra, where he was the Managing Director of Dekra Loss Adjusters & Surveyors, leading teams during significant events such as hurricanes and earthquakes. He has also held senior roles at York International (now Sedgwick), Axis International, and Crawford & Company.

His appointment strengthens McLarens’ commitment to offering exceptional service in the London market. The London International Hub is a dedicated unit supporting McLarens’ global network and specialty lines, providing comprehensive services to reinsurers, insurers, and syndicates with international exposures.

McLarens’ global network features specialised practice groups focusing on key industries such as agriculture, aviation, construction & engineering, energy & natural resources, entertainment, financial lines, and marine & transport.
