BHSI announces key leadership promotions in DACH region

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a provider of commercial property, casualty, and specialty insurance, has announced two key leadership promotions.

Lars Messutat has been appointed as the Head of General Property for the DACH region, while Juliane Klein-Walbeck has been named the Head of Energy & Construction for the same region.

“BHSI’s strength in the DACH region rests not only on our strong balance sheet, underwriting acumen and CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT philosophy, but also on the excellence of our team,” added Andreas Krause, Head of DACH, BHSI.

“Lars and Juliane exemplify this excellence. I look forward to working with them in their expanded roles to continue to grow our business and our customer and broker relationships.”

Messutat joined BHSI in 2018, previously serving as the Head of Property for Corporate Customers. With over 20 years of industry experience in property insurance, he has a strong background that encompasses both underwriting and brokerage. He will continue to operate from Munich.

Klein-Walbeck, who took on the role of Head of Construction in 2021, now steps into her expanded position with more than 20 years of industry experience. She remains based in Cologne.
