Everen Specialty announces retirement of SVP & COO Rivers

Everen Specialty Limited, a property and casualty re/insurer, has announced Jerry Rivers, Senior Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer, is to retire on March 31, 2025.

Rivers expressed his gratitude, stating: “I want to thank the Board for their confidence and support throughout my tenure. It has been a pleasure to work with an amazing team at Everen Specialty as well as valued clients and industry partners over the past 19 years.”

As SVP and COO, he has been responsible for leading the company’s strategic planning process, setting policies and procedures, interacting with rating agencies, acquiring reinsurance, overseeing the underwriting department, etc.

Beginning in 1982, Rivers’ insurance career has encompassed a wide range of responsibilities and areas of expertise.

He has experience in claims adjusting, underwriting, employee recruitment, and consulting on alternative risk transfer arrangements, including captives and rent-a-captives.

Robert Foskey, President and Chief Executive Officer, remarked: “Since Jerry joined the organisation in 2005, Everen Specialty and its leadership team have successfully executed numerous strategic initiatives, realigning the business for continued growth.
