Argenta names Inga Brand as Unit Head of Energy Liability

Argenta, a Lloyd’s insurer, has appointed Inga Brand as Unit Head, Energy Liability, with immediate effect.

Based in London, she will report to Heath Callan, Divisional Head of Energy & Marine. With more than 24 years of underwriting experience across UK and global markets, Brand brings extensive expertise to the role.

In her new position, Brand will oversee the strategic growth and development of Argenta’s Energy Liability portfolio, ensuring it aligns with the company’s long-term vision.

Her focus will include expanding market presence, strengthening key stakeholder relationships, and reinforcing Argenta’s position as a leading player in the sector. Additionally, she will support the development of underwriting talent, furthering Argenta’s commitment to technical excellence and client-driven solutions.

Brand joins from White Bear Managers (WBM), a Blenheim-owned MGA, where she was instrumental in launching and leading its Energy Liability product since 2020.

Prior to that, she spent six years at Liberty Specialty Markets, progressing from Senior Underwriter to Head of Energy, Construction, and Marine Liability in 2019. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade at Aspen Insurance, underwriting Energy, Construction, and Marine Liability risks, after starting her insurance career at Syndicate 1861, working on Marine and Energy Liability accounts.

Argenta also acknowledges the cooperation of White Bear Managers in facilitating a smooth transition, ensuring the orderly run-off and renewal of the previous binder to maintain continuity and support for clients.
