MS Amlin appoints Jo Hine and Andrew Downes as Independent Non-Exec Directors

Lloyd’s global re/insurer MS Amlin has appointed Jo Hine and Andrew Downes as Independent Non-Executive Directors.
Hine takes over as Chair of the Risk and Solvency Committee, subject to regulatory approval. She has extensive experience in finance, capital and risk having held several senior executive roles with Hiscox, Tokio Marine Kiln and QBE European Operations, as well as at MS Amlin’s sister company, Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe.
Currently, Hine is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Arch Insurance International and a Non-Executive Director and Trustee for Publish What You Fund, a charity working towards transparency in aid and development finance.
Downes joins the Board with two decades of experience as an Audit Partner at Deloitte. In the role, he led audit and advisory engagements for UK and international clients, including more than 10 Lloyd’s syndicates and brokers as well as Lloyd’s itself.
Downes is a Non-Executive Board Member and Trustee for the Pimlico Toy Library, a Westminster-based children’s charity. He has also represented the audit profession on the Institute of Chartered Accountant of England & Wales Insurance Committee and Lloyd’s Working Group.
