Alexandros Ampatzis named Head of Marine for Asia-Pacific at Tokio Marine Kiln

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), an international insurer specialising in niche insurance and reinsurance, recently announced the appointment of Alexandros Ampatzis as Head of Marine for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective November 1, 2024.

Ampatzis will report to Jamie Tang, TMK’s Regional Underwriting Director for APAC.

He is a seasoned expert in marine insurance, bringing a wealth of experience across global and APAC markets.

Ampatzis joins TMK from Starr Insurance, where he served as Marine Manager for Southeast Asia, following previous roles at AXA, including his recent position as Deputy Head of Marine Cargo Underwriting in Singapore.

Based in Singapore, TMK’s APAC marine team covers a wide geographical area, from Australia to the Middle East.

In his new role, Ampatzis will focus on expanding TMK’s presence in target markets across the region, supporting the team’s ongoing growth.

This appointment is part of TMK’s broader expansion efforts in Singapore, following the recent hiring of Stephanie Hong as APAC Marine Underwriter, and further highlights TMK’s commitment to growth in the region.
