Scheerer joins ASIC Board as Non-Exec Director

AM Specialty Insurance Company (ASIC), a provider of specialised insurance products, has announced the appointment of Joseph M. Scheerer, CEO and Principal of Stonybrook Capital, to its board as a non-executive director.

Scheerer brings a wealth of expertise in re/insurance, investment banking, and capital markets, gained from over two decades of experience as an insurance executive on Wall Street.

In 2022, the executive founded Stonybrook Capital, establishing a globally recognized firm with a reinsurance brokerage and advisory platform focused on alternative investments, including Insurtech and Lloyd’s of London.

Under his leadership, Stonybrook has grown through strategic partnerships with Holborn Corporation and renowned family offices, expanding into profitable reinsurance brokerage and advisory services.

Prior to establishing Stonybrook, Scheerer had held leadership positions in specialised practices at Willis Capital Markets & Advisory. Before that, he served as an investment banker at Benfield Advisory Group, Ltd.
