Carlos Rivera named CEO of Marsh McLennan LAC and President of Marsh LAC

Marsh McLennan, a global insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Carlos Rivera as CEO, Marsh McLennan Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and President, Marsh LAC, effective January 1, 2025.

Based in Bogotá, Colombia, Rivera will report to Flavio Piccolomini, CEO of Marsh McLennan International.

He succeeds Ricardo Brockmann, who has held these roles since February 2023. Brockmann will step into a new role as Chairman of Marsh McLennan LAC, also effective January 1, 2025.

In his new roles, Rivera will lead Marsh McLennan’s regional strategy, aiming to enhance client value across the firm’s businesses, with a particular focus on Marsh’s insurance broking and risk advisory business.

Rivera brings over 20 years of industry experience. Since December 2019, he has served as CEO of Carpenter Marsh FAC – Latin America & Caribbean, and prior to that, he was Head of Placement for the region.

In Brockmann’s new role as Chairman of Marsh McLennan LAC, he will remain based in Mexico City and support Rivera in shaping Marsh McLennan’s strategic vision for the region, focusing on client innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Brockmann has over 40 years of industry experience, including more than 25 years at Marsh McLennan. Previously, he served as CEO of Marsh LAC and Country Corporate Officer of Marsh McLennan Mexico for 13 years.

Piccolomini expressed enthusiasm for the appointments, stating, “Carlos has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by businesses and communities across the LAC region.
