SRA makes leadership changes appointing Law Chair & Beedle Deputy Chair

Singapore Reinsurers’ Association has announced changes in its leadership appointing Kenrick Law as SRA Chair and James Beedle as Deputy Chair, taking over from Marc Haushofer.
The SRA was established in 1979 aiming to be a leading voice for the re/insurance industry in Singapore.
They advocate for members on regulatory and policy issues, promote industry excellence through training and development, facilitate collaboration and networking opportunities, and raise public awareness of the industry and its career paths.
The organisation is overseen by an elected Executive Committee made up of senior volunteer reinsurance professionals and are supported by a full-time executive director and secretariat team.
Haushofer, who has served as Chair for the past eight years, will be leaving this position having left “an inspiring legacy of excellence that the association will continue to build upon,” the SRA noted.
Through his career, the executive has held a number of roles within the re/insurance industry, with his latest one being at RenaissanceRe. Other firms include Validus Reinsurance, Munich Re and its Singapore branch.
Law will be bringing over two decades of industry experience to his role as Chair. He has held positions at Allianz Reinsurance, Asia CApital Reinsurance Group and Swiss Re.
Beedle brings more than three decades of experience to his new role as SRA Deputy Chair, with his most recent position being as CEO Asia Pacific at PartnerRe. He has also held roles at Willis Singapore, as well as Japan and Australia.
As of 1 November 2024, the SRA comprises over 57 members, encompassing major non-life reinsurance companies in Singapore and direct insurers with significant reinsurance portfolios (Ordinary members).
Additionally, the SRA includes prominent reinsurance brokerage firms and regional reinsurers as Associate members.
