DLA Piper strengthens insurance team with Carl Hotton as new M&A partner

DLA Piper, a global law firm, has just announced the appointment of Carl Hotton as a new mergers and acquisitions (M&A) partner in its insurance team.

In his new role, Hotton will primarily focus on advising leading international insurance market clients on intricate and significant transactional matters. Additionally, he will provide counsel to financial institutions and technology clients on M&A and corporate transactions.

Carl’s appointment reinforces DLA Piper’s commitment to enhancing its specialised insurance M&A services for clients. It also contributes to the continued success of the firm’s comprehensive insurance practice throughout Europe.

Hotton brings substantial expertise to DLA Piper as a corporate M&A specialist with a focus on financial services, insurance, and fintech/tech transactions. He joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he worked for 8 years, most recently serving as a Senior Associate.
