BMS Re expands footprint in Minnesota

BMS on Friday said its BMS Re unit has acquired Trean Reinsurance Services LLC, part of Trean Insurance Group.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Trean Intermediaries, based in Wayzata, Minnesota, specializes in workers compensation, property/casualty, accident and health, personal auto, public entity and professional liability lines for insurer and MGA clients, the BMS statement said Friday.

Sean Ryan, president of Trean, will assume the newly created role of deputy CEO of BMS Re and report to Pete Chandler, president and CEO of BMS Re. JJ Johnson, managing partner at Trean, will assume the role of chief production officer, BMS Re.
