Guy Carpenter exec named Lloyd’s Council deputy chair

Vicky Carter, chair of global capital solutions, international, at Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, has been appointed deputy chair of Lloyd’s Council, effective September 1, Lloyd’s of London said Thursday.

Ms. Carter has sat as an elected member of Lloyd’s Council since February 2019 and has worked for the Lloyd’s market for 40 years. She is the first woman to hold the position of deputy chair of the Council, which is the body responsible for the supervision of the Lloyd’s market.

Ms. Carter joined Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos., in 2010 as vice chair of international operations and took up her current role in 2018. She also holds positions on Guy Carpenter’s executive committee and board.

London-based Ms. Carter was among Business Insurance’s 2012 Women to Watch honorees.
