One80 hires former Zurich exec as COO

One80 Intermediaries said Monday it has named former Zurich North America executive Edward Lopes as its chief operating officer, a new position at the Boston-based specialty broker.

In this role, Mr. Lopes will help with the integration of new business acquisitions, sales and marketing strategy, process optimization and the development of One80’s technology platforms.

Mr. Lopes was most recently regional executive for the east region at Zurich North America and prior to that regional president for American International Group Inc. in the northeast region.

Matthew F. Power, president of One80 Intermediaries, said he had worked with Mr. Lopes during their respective tenures at AIG.
