Former Everest exec John Doucette named CEO of Amynta Risk Solutions

John Doucette, the former President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reinsurance at Bermuda-based Everest Group, has been appointed as the new CEO of Amynta Risk Solutions, effective May 2024.

Amynta is an insurance services company that specialises in Property, Casualty and Specialty insurance as well as Warranty and Protection.

Based in the New York City metropolitan area, Doucette has been in his role as CEO of Amynta Risk Solutions for less than one month.

Most recently, he worked at insurer and reinsurer Everest Group, leading the firm’s reinsurance division until May 2021. He first joined Everest in 2008 as EVP and Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management, before taking over as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Worldwide Reinsurance in 2011.

In 2012, Doucette was named CUO for Everest Group, before later becoming President and CEO of the Reinsurance arm, and also a Board Member at Mt. Logan, part of Everest Group.

Earlier in his career, Doucette worked at Max Re for roughly eight years, latterly as President and CUO of P&C Reinsurance. Before this, he worked at Swiss Re for three years in Bermuda, and also spent more than eight years with Tillinghast in Bermuda and the U.S.
