Acrisure hires former Guy Carpenter reinsurance broker

Acrisure Re said Wednesday it has hired former Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC broker Chuck Furlong as a senior vice president.
New York-based Mr. Furlong will focus on growing the intermediary’s North American property/casualty reinsurance business, according to a statement from Acrisure Re, which is the reinsurance brokerage unit of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Acrisure LLC.
Most recently, he was head of U.S. casualty reinsurance at Guy Carpenter. Previously, he was a managing director at JLT Re North America, which Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., Guy Carpenter’s parent company, bought in 2019.
Acrisure significantly increased its reinsurance brokerage business with the purchase of Beach & Associates Ltd. in 2018, which it rebranded as Acrisure Re in 2020.
