Advanta integrates Propicsa into operations and announces senior hires

Advanta, a specialist technical adjusting firm, has announced the merger of Propicsa, a specialist Latin America and Caribbean loss adjuster, into its operations, aiming to strengthen its capabilities in the region and enhance its service offerings.

Advanta has also appointed Andrew Brown as Divisional Director, Specialty.

Based in London, Brown will lead Advanta’s Specialty Risks Division, overseeing the management of complex technical claims across all specialty lines globally, including War, Political Violence & Terrorism, Specie (including CIT), Jewellers Block, Fine Art, Cyber, and Contingency & Event Cancellation.

Brown brings approximately 35 years of re/insurance industry experience, with expertise in natural catastrophe events, large property and engineering/construction risks, and various liability claims. He will also support Advanta’s global offices across these lines of business.

In addition, Advanta is expanding its Brazilian operations with the appointment of Fernando Valentim to lead its Rio de Janeiro office.

In this role, Valentim will report to Andre Werneck, Advanta’s Managing Director in Brazil.

He brings more than 30 years of industry experience across underwriting, reinsurance, and claims oversight, with deep expertise in managing complex claims in the Brazilian market. He is experienced in technical negotiations and regular interactions with international reinsurers, brokers, and regulatory bodies.

Most recently, Valentim spent seven years at Chubb, where he served as Technical Director. Prior to that, he spent nearly 24 years at RSA, most recently as Claims Manager.
