AIG hires Allianz exec as chief underwriting officer

American International Group Inc. has hired former Allianz SE executive Ciara Brady as chief underwriting officer, international casualty, effective Sept. 1.

Ms. Brady succeeds Patrick Mailloux, who has retired from the company.

Based in Zurich, Ms. Brady reports to Lex Baugh, global chief underwriting officer, casualty and financial lines, and Jon Hancock, CEO, International General Insurance, AIG said Wednesday.

Ms. Brady will lead overall strategic direction and objectives for international casualty underwriting, collaborating with claims, actuarial and other functions, AIG said.

Ms. Brady was previously global head of liability at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE, a unit of Allianz SE, in Zurich and prior to that served in various leadership positions at Swiss Re Ltd.
