Alliant hires former Gallagher life sciences exec

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. has recruited Rich Leavitt, a former area principal and regional practice leader at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., to its health care insurance practice.

Boston-based Mr. Leavitt will help in expanding Newport Beach, California-based Alliant’s “health care expertise and strengthening our position in life science and tech across the U.S.,” said John Ludwig, executive vice president and co-chief operating officer of Alliant Specialty, in a statement Tuesday. 

Mr. Leavitt was a founding principal at William Gallagher Associates Insurance Brokers Inc., which Gallagher bought in 2015.
