Alliant hires former Travelers surety underwriting chief

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. on Tuesday named Chris Murphy, previously chief underwriting officer of Travelers Cos. Inc.’s surety business, as an executive vice president and managing director.

New York-based Mr. Murphy will lead Newport Beach, California-based Alliant’s national surety program, the brokerage said in a statement.

Mr. Murphy spent more than 20 years at Travelers. He began his career at Aetna Inc.
