Alliant hires top executive from McGriff

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. said Wednesday it has hired Rick Ulmer, former president and CEO of McGriff, the commercial insurance brokerage unit of Truist Insurance Holdings Inc.

Mr. Ulmer will be an executive vice president and managing director, mergers and acquisitions, within the brokerage’s Alliant Underwriting Solutions division, an Alliant statement said.

Mr. Ulmer “will play a critical role in setting the stage for ongoing growth and expansion across all facets of AUS,” Sean McConlogue, president of Alliant Underwriting Solutions, said in the statement.

Prior to joining McGriff, Mr. Ulmer headed Regions Insurance Group, which Truist’s predecessor bought in 2018.
