Alliant recruits another Willis public entity broker

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. Thursday named a former Willis Towers Watson PLC broker as a senior vice president in its public entity insurance business, the brokerage’s third such announcement in the past week.

Reno, Nevada-based Karen Caterino has joined Newport Beach, California-based Alliant’s public entity, education and pooling practice.

Previously, she was public entity, education center of excellence leader-West, at Willis.

Earlier this week, Alliant announced that it had hired former Willis broker Mike Honeycutt to its public entity business and last week it announced the hiring of Kaci Snyder from Willis.

Numerous rivals have been hiring Willis staff over the past year, following the announcement in March 2020 of Aon PLC’s offer to buy Willis. That deal fell apart in the face of regulatory opposition late last month. Earlier this week, Willis CEO John Haley said the brokerage would seek to “aggressively” recruit staff to replace those who have left.
