Allianz and Jio formalise Indian reinsurance joint venture

Allianz Europe B.V. and Jio Financial Services Ltd (JFSL) have formally incorporated their reinsurance joint venture in India, naming the new entity Allianz Jio Reinsurance Ltd (AJRL).
The joint venture received its certificate of incorporation from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 8, 2025, following a no-objection certificate from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
AJRL will engage in the business of reinsurance in India, subject to final regulatory approvals.
Both partners will hold equal stakes, with an initial subscription of ₹2.5 lakh through 25,000 equity shares of ₹10 each.
The companies said the transaction does not constitute a related-party arrangement, and none of JFSL’s promoter or group entities have any interest in the venture.
