Allianz Commercial appoints Hyeji Kang as new CFO

Allianz Commercial has announced the appointment of Hyeji Kang as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Allianz Commercial and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), effective October 1st, 2025.

In her new role, Kang will report directly to Thomas Lillelund, CEO of Allianz Commercial.

She will succeed Oskar Buchauer, who has decided to step down from the Boards of Allianz Commercial and AGCS after 27 years in various leadership positions at Allianz, including serving as CFO for the past two years.

Kang joined AGCS in 2015 as Chief Actuary for the Americas region. Since then, she has held various roles, including Global Head of Global Performance Steering for AGCS and Allianz Commercial. Since March 2024, Kang has served as CFO at Allianz Reinsurance.

Prior to joining Allianz, she was a Director at PwC and held roles at CNA Insurance and WTW.

Lillelund commented, “Oskar has contributed hugely to Allianz over a distinguished career and has been instrumental in establishing strong foundations for Allianz Commercial. I wish him the very best for the future. I welcome Hyeji back to Allianz Commercial and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
