AM Specialty appoints Mary McKay as CUO of Pinpoint MGA

AM Specialty Insurance Group has appointed Mary McKay as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of its direct writing Managing General Agency (MGA), Pinpoint Insurance Solutions.

Alongside Brad Sickinger, McKay will now lead the underwriting strategy and development of transportation programs at Pinpoint.

This appointment aligns with AM Specialty’s commitment to underwriting excellence and aim to provide specialized insurance solutions tailored to meet its partners’ evolving needs.

McKay has over two decades of experience in transportation underwriting and a proven track record across retail, wholesale, insurance company operations, and program administration.

During her career, McKay has served in senior leadership roles including as Senior Vice President at Maximum Independent Brokerage, managing the company’s first branch outside of its Chicago headquarters.

Notably, McKay played a pivotal role in the development of Foundry Insurance Group as Executive Vice President and CUO. In the role, she was instrumental in creating and managing three niche transportation programs and led the Foundry staff, working closely with re/insurers to support these programs.

She has previously worked in key underwriting roles at Vanliner Insurance Company, and Swett & Crawford.
