AmTrust names a P&C exec

AmTrust Financial Services announced Thursday it appointed former Liberty Mutual leader Carl Canales as executive vice president, head of field operations for North American property and casualty.

He replaces Bruce Sanderson, who retired earlier this year.

Mr. Canales, based in Boston, will report to Chris Foy, executive vice president, head of North American commercial P&C.

Mr. Canales was a senior vice president at Liberty Mutual, where he held various leadership roles after joining the company in 2004.
