Amwins appoints Bob Black National Property Practice Leader

Amwins, a distributor of specialty insurance products and services, has announced the appointment of Bob Black as National Property Practice Leader.

Black, who has been with the company for over two decades, will be joining Harry Tucker and Jessica Zuiker in co-leading the practice within Amwins’ Brokerage division.

“Bob’s depth of expertise, industry relationships, and dedication to our Property practice is unmatched,” said Sam Baig, president of Amwins Brokerage. “His ability to connect strategy with execution will help ensure our property brokers continue to deliver innovative solutions to our retail clients.”

Black has been with Amwins for over two decades, most recently as Executive Vice President – Property.

During this time, he was responsible for producing, placing and renewing national (and regional) multifamily and real estate schedules, catastrophe exposed business, single peril placements (i.e. Wind/Hail, Flood, Earthquake and Terrorism).

His expertise also extends to various industries, from healthcare, hospitality and entertainment, to manufacturing and energy, as well as various deductible buydowns (i.e. AOP, wind/hail, flood and earthquake).

In August 2011, he was named National Real Estate Practice Leader (Property). During this time he oversaw a 31 person Property team. Under his leadership, the team delivered detailed marketing summaries, catastrophe modeling for pricing and layering optimization and manuscript policy form, and endorsement creation.
