Aon appoints Erlantz Urbieta as Chief Broking Officer for EMEA

Global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has appointed Erlantz Urbieta as Chief Broking Officer (CBO) for Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA), effective immediately.
Urbieta succeeds Terence Williams, who will assume the role of Head of Commercial Risk in APAC.
In the new role, Urbieta will have a dual reporting line to Luca Tassarotti, Head of Commercial Risk Solutions EMEA, and Cynthia Beveridge, Global CBO at Aon.
Aon stated that this appointment aligns with its strategy to invest in talent and enhance its risk capital capabilities across the region.
Urbieta’s expertise across property, casualty, and specialties, combined with his strong leadership skills, positions him to advance Aon’s broking strategy across EMEA.
Currently, Urbieta serves as Head of Commercial Risk in Spain and will continue overseeing the business in the short term to ensure a smooth transition.
Urbieta has over 25 years of experience at Aon. The broker stated that he has been instrumental in shaping the Spanish Commercial Risk business, successfully spearheading broking, carrier management, specialties, risk consulting, and claims in the country.
