Aon completes acquisition of Griffiths & Armour to strengthen UK and Ireland footprint

Aon, a large global insurance and reinsurance broking group, has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Griffiths & Armour.

The deal, finalised on January 1, 2025, enhances Aon’s strategy to broaden its regional footprint in the UK and Ireland.

Moving forward, Griffiths & Armour, a well-established UK insurance broker, will operate under the name “Griffiths & Armour, an Aon company.”

This acquisition comes after Aon signed a definitive agreement on November 1, 2024, to acquire Griffiths & Armour, aligning with Aon’s expansion strategy in the UK and Ireland.

Upon completion, Griffiths & Armour will become wholly owned by Aon UK Limited. With this acquisition, Griffiths & Armour gains access to a wider range of solutions, combining the strengths of both organisations to drive further growth.

As part of the integration, Aon has pledged to continue supporting Griffiths & Armour’s Liverpool office at Princes Dock, alongside its teams in Liverpool, Manchester, Dublin, and London.
