Aon names Alejandro Padilla new MD for reinsurance solutions in Latin America

Broking group Aon has appointed Alejandro Padilla Mariscal as its new Managing Director, Consulting and Science Reinsurance Solutions for Latin America.

In the new role, Padilla will lead the catastrophe modelling firm, ERN Evaluación de Riesgos Naturales, which Aon acquired two years ago, alongside its consulting practice.

“In an environment impacted by climate change and the emergence of new risks, Alejandro’s expertise in reinsurance broking and business development will be crucial in protecting our client’s interests by creating modelling solutions for secondary risks and parametric structures across the region,” Aon said.

Padilla holds extensive industry experience, having previously served in various senior positions in reinsurance and risk management.

Before joining Aon, he served as Head of Reinsurance at GNP Seguros and as CEO for marine and non-marine reinsurance at Som.us México. He also held leadership roles at Cooper Gay & Co. Ltd and Swiss Re.
