Aon taps reinsurance, risk chief Marcell to head global solutions

Aon PLC on Monday named Andy Marcell CEO of global solutions as part of the brokerage’s strategy of offering integrated services.

Previously, Mr. Marcell, who joined Aon in 2015, was CEO of reinsurance and CEO of risk capital. He will continue to head reinsurance until former Lloyd’s of London CEO John Neal joins Aon in September, Aon said in a statement.

Mr. Marcell will lead Aon’s integrated services capabilities, the statement said.

In 2023, Aon announced its “3×3” plan, accelerating its strategy of integrating its services across its risk capital and human capital business units, which encompass its various operations – insurance brokerage, reinsurance brokerage, health and benefits consulting, and investment management.

Mr. Marcell will continue to report to Aon President and CEO Greg Case, the statement said.
