Apollo appoints Ciara Sheikh as Interim Executive Underwriter, Cargo

Apollo, an independent specialist insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Ciara Sheikh as Interim Executive Underwriter, Cargo.
In addition to her role as Hull Underwriter, Sheikh will lead Apollo’s Cargo team, working alongside Richard Panter.
Sheikh joined Apollo in 2022 as Hull Assistant Underwriter and has served as Marine Hull Underwriter since January 2023.
Before that, she spent six years at MS Amlin, holding roles such as Specie Assistant Underwriter and Hull & Yacht Assistant Underwriter.
James Slaughter, Group Chief Underwriting Officer at Apollo, said, “Ciara has contributed significantly to Apollo since joining and we are delighted to nurture internal talent as we continue to grow as a business.”
