Arch Insurance International strengthens leadership with key promotions in casualty division

Arch Insurance International, a provider of specialty insurance solutions, has announced a series of senior promotions within its Casualty division, effective immediately.

Robin Hamilton has been appointed as the Head of Energy and Marine Liability. In his expanded role, Hamilton will lead the integration of the Energy Liability and Marine Liability teams to provide more robust solutions in this sector.

Tony Flatman, Head of Marine Liability, will continue to manage day-to-day underwriting and portfolio operations for Marine Liability. Hamilton will report directly to James Mecham, Head of Casualty.

Hamilton previously served as Head of Energy Liability and has been with Arch since 2018. Before joining the company, he was a Partner at JLT Specialty.

Additionally, Rory Thompson and Marie-Claire Bessada have been promoted to key leadership positions within the General Liability segment.

Thompson has been named Head of London Market Wholesale, General Liability, while Bessada takes on the role of Head of Retail, General Liability. Both are tasked with overseeing underwriting and portfolio management activities in their respective areas as Arch continues to enhance its market presence. They will also report to Mecham.

Thompson, who began his underwriting career at Arch in 2014, was previously a General Liability Portfolio Manager. Bessada, who joined Arch in 2019, previously served as Deputy Class Underwriter for General Liability at Chaucer.

These promotions reflect Arch’s dedication to strengthening its leadership team and advancing its expertise across the Casualty division.
