Ardonagh Advisory to acquire R.K. Henshall

Ardonagh Advisory, a UK insurance broking and consulting firm, has announced its plan to acquire R.K. Henshall & Co. Limited, a chartered insurance broker based in Sandbach, Cheshire.

Founded in 1976, R.K. Henshall & Co. employs 35 people and specialises in commercial insurance, offering premium schemes through its Air Underwriting division.

Following the acquisition, which is pending regulatory approval, directors John Henshall and Allen Simpson will remain with the company.

Henshall said: “As a second-generation family business, selling to a bigger firm was a massive decision.

“It was really important to find a business that understood and supported our culture, and that would ultimately mean a stronger proposition for our clients.”

Henshall further added: “In Ardonagh we’re joining forces with a dynamic and growing business, bringing even greater opportunities for our people and clients.”

He will continue to lead the team and report to Stephen Boyd, the Managing Director of Advisory Insurance Brokers in the North.

R.K. Henshall & Co. Limited will become part of Ardonagh Advisory, a UK broker with over £1 billion in Gross Written Premium and more than 2,600 employees nationwide.
