Ardonagh Group hires Allianz’s Mark Mitchell to lead growth in Asia

Independent insurance broker The Ardonagh Group, has hired renowned industry veteran Mark Mitchell to support the expansion of its business operations in Asia.

Based in Singapore, Mitchell will work with Ardonagh’s businesses in the region – Envest and Price Forbes, to explore opportunities to expand their retail and wholesale broking footprint, as well as develop new MGA capabilities too.

Overall, he brings 35 years of industry expertise, which includes 25 years working within the Asian insurance market.

Previously, he served as the Asia Pacific CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS).

Addressing Mitchell’s appointment, Chief Investment Officer for Ardonagh Global Partners Des O’Connor said: “Mark’s deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific market landscape will allow us to identify and execute on the best opportunities to drive growth and create value for our clients and markets alike.

“He will further strengthen our team and proposition in this exciting region, which is currently one of the fastest growing insurance markets in the world.”

Looking back at their results for 2023, The Ardonagh Group reported a notable rise in income when compared with the prior year to $1.6 billion, as reported adjusted EBITDA increased 42.5% to $522 million.
