AssuredPartners names former Accenture executive as COO

AssuredPartners Inc., the Orlando, Florida-based brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has agreed to buy, on Tuesday named Heather Sullivan as chief operating officer, effective Jan. 13.
Chicago-based Ms. Sullivan was previously managing director, insurance strategy for North America, at Accenture PLC.
Paul Vredenburg previously served as COO and president of AssuredPartners. Sean Smith took over as president in November. AssuredPartners did not respond to a request for comment.
Gallagher last month agreed to buy AssuredPartners for $13.45 billion. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter.
AssuredPartners is the 11th largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent ranking.
