Augment Risk Services adds former Artex exec

Augment Risk Services LLC said Thursday it has hired Steve McElhiney to lead a newly established captive and alternative risk offering.

Dallas-based Mr. McElhiney previously was senior vice president and global director of reinsurance at Artex Risk Solutions Inc., the captive management arm of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Mr. McElhiney was named partner and will lead efforts to create legacy programs in captive insurance, including repurposing microcaptives and developing initiatives with various capital providers.
