Axa XL hires energy exec from Liberty Mutual; Rose Hall leaving

Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA, on Wednesday named Katherine Gerber, formerly with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., as head of energy transition in the Americas.

She reports to Jon Tellekamp, recently appointed chief underwriting officer for construction & energy.

Richmond, Virginia-based Ms. Gerber most recently was global strategy and performance lead for energy transition risk at Liberty Mutual.

She will direct energy underwriting strategy and the development of products and services to support policyholders’ energy transition plans in the newly created role.

Meanwhile, Rose Hall, previously Axa XL’s senior vice president, head of innovation, Americas, has left the company.

In a LinkedIn post, Ms. Hall said after “nine incredible years” with Axa XL, she had decided “to move on and explore new adventures.” Axa XL’s ecosystem, led by Ms. Hall, was a 2024 Business Insurance Innovation Award winner.
