Axa XL hires former Liberty Mutual exec as CUO construction, energy

Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA, Friday named Jon Tellekamp, formerly with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., as chief underwriting officer, construction and energy, Americas, effective Jan. 13.

He succeeds Gary Kaplan, former president of construction, who retired in July.

Mr. Tellekamp will lead the combined construction and energy underwriting and risk engineering teams. He reports to Donna Nadeau, head of large commercial.

Mr. Tellekamp most recently was senior vice president and head of excess casualty for major accounts at Liberty Mutual.
