AXA XL names Mark Flanagan as the Head of Property & Casualty, Bermuda

AXA XL, the property & casualty (P&C) and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has appointed Mark Flanagan as the Head of Property & Casualty, Bermuda, reporting to Noel Pearman, Chief Underwriting Officer, Bermuda within AXA XL’s Insurance business.

Flanagan has over two decades of underwriting experience, including the past 12 years with AXA XL. He was formerly the Senior Vice President, Chief Property Underwriter/Head of Property Bermuda at AXA XL.

In the new role, he will lead the Bermuda P&C underwriting team focused on growing the Property line of business; developing and managing client relationships across both lines of business; and leading a client-centric approach to providing solutions.

Pearman commented on the appointment: “We congratulate Mark on his appointment to this new role. Given Mark’s industry experience and knowledge as well as his successful track record in leading our profitable Property business, we are confident that our Bermuda Insurance P&C Team will strengthen AXA XL’s position in the Bermuda market.”

AXA XL has also reshuffled its Bermuda P&C leadership team members who will now report to Flanagan, including, Rebecca Dupré, the Senior Vice President, Head of Casualty Products with 36 years of industry experience in Bermuda and the US.

Karen Smith, Senior Vice President, Casualty Products, has 20 years of industry experience. Arketa Tucker is the Senior Vice President, Product Line Leader with 24 years of industry experience. Lastly, Stephanie Outerbridge, serving as the Vice President, Property Underwriting Manager with 12 years of industry experience.
