Axis announces promotion, hiring from Falvey

Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. on Tuesday said it has promoted Mark Gregory to head of global markets and hired former Falvey Insurance Group executive Michael J. McKenna as head of North America within its specialty insurance business.

Both newly created leadership positions will report directly to Vince Tizzio, president and CEO of Axis, a company statement said.

Based in London, Mr. Gregory will oversee underwriting and business growth for Axis’ international retail business lines and global practices including cyber. He most recently served as CEO of the company’s international division.

Based in New Jersey, Mr. McKenna will have oversight of underwriting and business growth strategies for Axis’ North America wholesale and retail businesses as well as insurance global distribution and digital. He was most recently chief underwriting officer for Falvey Insurance Group.
