Balavant Insurance Group names Michael Sothen CFO and Omeed Kazemi COO

Balavant Insurance Group, a provider of specialty insurance solutions, has announced two senior executive appointments to strengthen its leadership team.

Michael Sothen has been named Chief Financial Officer, and Omeed Kazemi joins as Chief Operating Officer.

Sothen, a finance executive with more than 25 years of experience, will oversee Balavant’s financial strategy, reporting, internal controls, acquisitions, and operational finance functions.

He brings extensive industry expertise from his leadership roles at Brown & Brown and its MGA subsidiary, Arrowhead, where he served as Divisional CFO for Services and National Programs.

Kazemi brings broad experience at the crossroads of insurance, technology, and financial services. Previously at Hippo Insurance, he managed business operations, revenue strategy, retention initiatives, and complex cross-functional projects.

At Balavant, Kazemi will focus on advancing strategic growth initiatives, integrating acquisitions, and driving operational efficiency across the organisation.
