Balfour Beatty hires risk manager

General contractor Balfour Beatty announced Monday it has hired William Motherway, former Posillico Civil risk leader, as vice president of risk for its U.S. infrastructure operations.

Mr. Motherway will lead the implementation of Balfour Beatty’s enterprise risk management framework across its infrastructure business in the new role.

He will also support the development of fraud risk assessments, internal control reviews and compliance with internal controls.

Mr. Motherway most recently was vice president of risk management at Posillico Civil, a construction contractor. Throughout his career, he has held various executive leadership roles where he has founded and managed captive insurers, led corporate litigation and compliance programs and implemented enterprise-wide risk strategies.

From 2018 to 2022, he was risk manager and ethics and compliance officer for Sarasota County Government.
