A bill that would prohibit employers from firing or segregating employees based on their vaccination status is working its way through the Louisiana legislature.
H.B. 928, introduced Monday, would make it illegal for employers to “discharge any employee or otherwise to discriminate against any employee with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of the employee’s medical or physical condition, immunity status, or vaccination status.”
The bill would also prohibit an employer’s ability to “limit, segregate, or classify an employee for employment in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive the employee of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee” under the same conditions.
The bill was delayed for consideration.
