Blin & Lambert join Descartes to enhance underwriting in new risk classes

Descartes has appointed Cyril Blin as Principal Underwriter, Technical Risks, and Benjamin Lambert as Senior Credit Underwriting Manager, Credit & Political Risk Insurance (Single Risk).

According to the firm, the appointment of these two experienced insurance professionals will allow it to extend its underwriting approach into new risk classes.

Both Blin and Lambert join Descartes’ Strategy & New Business Division, established to explore potential opportunities for development and diversification leveraging its underwriting model.

Following seven years in underwriting roles at French commercial insurer Albingia, Blin has spent the past 19 years at AXA France as Technical Risks Expert Underwriter and national referent for machinery breakdown, construction equipment, and affinity insurance.

Meanwhile, Lambert joins Descartes from Coface, where he spent nearly eight years underwriting large credit risks, ultimately as the specialist carrier’s Deputy Head of Credit and Political Risk Insurance.
