Brokerage executive Timothy Mahoney dies

Timothy J. Mahoney Jr., global enterprise client leader at Aon and a veteran brokerage leader, died Sept. 23 at age 59.

A longtime New Jersey resident, Mr. Mahoney joined Marsh after he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1989. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.

He rose to be president, global risk management, at Marsh before leaving in 2015.

Before joining Aon in 2022, he held senior positions at Lockton and USI Insurance Services.

In 2004, Mr. Mahoney was an honoree in Business Insurance’s 40 Under 40 recognition program.
