Brown & Brown acquires Seattle-based brokerage

Brown & Brown Inc. said Tuesday that it has acquired The Pacific Underwriters Corp., a brokerage and program manager based in Seattle, through a subsidiary.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Pacific Underwriters acts as a program manager for various public utility risk pools in Washington state and also offers professional liability coverage for dental practitioners in the Pacific Northwest.

Pacific Underwriters will continue doing business from its existing Seattle location as part of Brown & Brown’s national programs segment.
