Burns & Wilcox taps former U.S. Risk, USI execs for California roles

Wholesale insurance broker Burns & Wilcox, part of H.W. Kaufman Group, named former U.S. Risk executive Joseph Ross as associate managing director, San Diego, and former USI Insurance Services LLC executive Obie Scott as associate managing director, Sacramento.

Mr. Ross was most recently property growth leader at U.S. Risk and previously spent six years at Atlas General Insurance Services, a Risk Placement Services company, the broker said in a statement.

Mr. Scott was most recently the regional select practice leader at USI, with responsibility for building the Northern California sales team, the statement said.

Rich Gobler, Burns & Wilcox executive vice president, West Coast, said in the statement that Burns & Wilcox is seeing risks throughout California increasingly flow into the excess & surplus market.
