CAC Group announced Thursday that Erin Lynch, previously president of its natural resources practice, will become its next CEO, and current CEO Mike Rice will become vice chairman of the Denver-based brokerage.
CAC said that changes will be made in the first quarter.
Ms. Lynch joined CAC in 2021 after serving as president of Beecher Carlson Insurance Holdings Inc.’s global energy practice.
A former broadcast journalist, she began her insurance career as an account executive at Willis Towers Watson PLC and, in 2006, joined Beecher Carlson, which was bought by Brown & Brown Inc. in 2013.
In 2017, she was named one of the Business Insurance Women to Watch.
Mr. Rice, formerly a senior executive at JLT Specialty US and Aon PLC, joined CAC Specialty to lead the newly formed specialty affiliate of brokerage Cobbs Allen. In 2023, when CAC Specialty and Cobbs Allen merged to form CAC Group, he was named CEO of the combined company.
As vice chairman, Mr. Rice will “will focus on his board role, along with strategic growth opportunities,” CAC said in a statement.
CAC is the 36th-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent ranking.
