Canopius hires former Liberty Mutual exec as CUO, US and Bermuda

Canopius Group Ltd. said Monday it has hired former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. executive Coleman V. Johnson as chief underwriting officer, U.S. and Bermuda.

He will report to Lisa Davis, CEO of Canopius U.S. and Bermuda, and to Mike Duffy, Canopius Group CUO.

Mr. Johnson previously served as senior vice president and CUO, middle market, for Liberty Mutual and prior to that held senior leadership positions at Hanover Insurance Group Inc. and Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.

Ms. Davis previously was acting U.S. and Bermuda CUO in addition to her role as CEO.
