Canopius names former Willis exec Roy as group COO

Canopius Group Ltd. said Friday it has hired Kate Roy, former chief operating officer at Willis Towers Watson PLC, as group COO, effective in early 2022.

Ms. Roy will report to Neil Robertson, deputy CEO, the London-based specialty insurer said. She was previously COO for Great Britain and Willis Ltd. and prior to that held senior positions at various companies including American International Group Inc.

Ms. Roy, who will be based in London, has also served on the board of Platform Placing Ltd., the London market’s electronic placing platform since its launch in 2016.
